Let’s Chat…In Person!

Ah yes, as you are well aware by now, Summer Session is fast approaching.  Your friendly library services team (Abby and Margaret) are excited to once again offer reference appointments and walk-in hours during session.

Now that you’ve finished celebrating, here are some important details.

There will be appointment times available from Tuesday, July 14th – Thursday, July 16.  We will have a handy link ready for you to use to book appointments around mid-June. (Apologies to those who read this post earlier–we are so excited to scheduled appointments got ahead of ourselves!  Once the link and schedule have been finalized, we’ll post everything you need here.)

What if there’s no appointment available when you’d like to see us?  Chances are if the sun is up, so are your librarians!  We’ll be staffing the reference desk most of the day, so even if there is not an appointment available you can still drop-in to get some help.  You can also send us an email (library@fielding.edu) prior to session if you have any questions or concerns about coordinating a time to meet with us.

Don’t forget, we’re also offering a few instruction sessions during session:

  • Using the Fielding Library: An intro course meant to refresh your memory on basic library skills such as using FASTsearch, locating journals/e-books, and more.
  • Advanced Research Methods: A more in-depth look at some database search tips, search strategies, and resources to help as you progress through your research.
  • Citation Management Tools: A look at three tools (Zotero, Mendeley, and Flow). We’ll discuss what citation tools are, how they are helpful, and take a look at the differences between these three.

We’re excited to help you with research, answer a simple question, or just say hello and put some names to faces. If you have a minute, be sure to drop by the desk and say hi!
